The JMTR are organized by the High Altitude Athletics Club and Atomic City Road Runners, a non-profit organization. Proceeds from the JMTR are donated to local organizations. Proceeds from the 2024 race were donated to the following organizations:

In addition, we support two scholarship funds that benefit LAHS seniors. The scholarship funds are held in individual accounts. Tax-deductable donations to these funds can be made by mailing a check to the fund at PO Box 298, Los Alamos, NM 87544. Wally Walters Memorial Scholarship
The Wally Walters Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the outstanding senior male and female runners each year. The award is made on recommendation from the LAHS track and cross country coaches.

Aaron S. Goldman Memorial Scholarship
The Aaron S. Goldman Memorial Scholarship is made to a senior that best exemplifies the values of Aaron Goldman, excellence in academics, a passion for running, and a dedication to community service.
