We held out hope that the 2020 JMTR would be able to take place but given the current and predicted course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 JMTR. For 14 years in a row, the JMTR has been a mainstay of the Los Alamos area and national ultrarunning calendar and it's very difficult to break that streak. But this is an unprecedented year withe COVID-19 pandemic forcing major changes to everyday life. The health and well being of our volunteers and participants is of paramount importance to us and it's simply not practical to continue with the 2020 JMTR given the uncertainties this virus presents.

An email from UltraSignup summarizing the options below has already been sent to all registered runners. A second email from UltraSignup will be sent in the coming days to all registered runners with a link to choose your option. We kindly request a response to the second email by April 27th. If you are registered for a 2020 race do not receive the email messages from UltraSignup, please send an email message to jemezruns@gmail.com.

The JMTR Team would like to offer you three options with regard to your entrant fee:

1) Request no refund. Your registration fee will then be considered a donation to the High Altitude Athletics Club (HAAC), the 501c3 non-profit parent organization of JMTR.

2) Transfer your entry to the Pajarito Trail Fest: https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=76639 Any difference in registration fees will be considered a donation to HAAC. The Pajarito Trail Fest will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at the Pajarito Ski Area in Los Alamos, NM and offers two races of 10 km and 25 km in distance.

3) A refund of your entrant fees.

Donations to HAAC will be used to offset JMTR's already committed operating expenses and support our charities and non-profits, many of which have been impacted by COVID-19.

This pandemic is having a significant impact on the world. We realize this pandemic may have had a significant financial impact to you. As such, we would like to offer all runners the option of a full refund. Unfortunately, we have already incurred financial expenditures so depending on the number of refund requests, we may not be able to refund the entire entry fee.

You will be able to choose your option via UltraSignup. You will soon receive an email from UltraSignup asking you to choose your option. We ask that you please respond to this request by April 27th. For entrants who do not respond, we will assume that this is a request for no refund.

All of us at JMTR wish you a safe and healthy time during this situation and we hope to see you at the 2021 race.

After the COVID-19 period, I started thinking about changing my life. To understand what Dubai is really like, I spent a lot of time in online chats with expats from my home country. Many of them gave me good feedback about safety, job opportunities, and comfortable living conditions. Hearing so many positive stories, I decided to move.

As a marketing specialist, I was attracted to Dubai because the city recovered quickly after the pandemic. Businesses reopened, tourism came back, and many companies were hiring skilled workers. I saw a chance to work on big projects and grow in my career.

Finding a home in a new country can be difficult, but experienced expats recommended https://emirates.estate/. This trusted platform made my…
