JMTR 2021 Update - January 8, 2021

Hello JMTR Supporters,

The JMTR race organization has decided to delay race registration until March 15th to allow us to better assess our ability to hold the event and the impact that the pandemic will have on the race format. New Mexico currently has restrictions on group gatherings to no more than 5 people and quarantine requirements for people coming from out-of-state. Planning for the JMTR is very difficult because of the major uncertainty on potential restrictions that may be in place on race day along with our ability to obtain permits from the National Forest Service, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Los Alamos County. The race organization is committed to defining the race format before registration is open to ensure that runners understand what they are registering for. In addition, we need to ensure we follow New Mexico state COVID-19 guidance which may limit participation from out-of-state runners. In early March, the JMTR race organization will reassess the impact of the pandemic on our ability to hold the race in 2021 and provide an update on the status at that time.
